Mark Kelly Leeman is a Cass County native and father of three. His practice focuses on a broad range of areas, with particular experience in the areas of personal injury, employment law, and appeals. Mr. Leeman has litigated dozens of appeals from Cass County and surrounding counties. He handles post-conviction cases and serious felonies in Cass County and all surrounding counties within a two county radius.
Mr. Leeman has litigated cases in seven different states and won cases at all levels in Indiana, including administrative proceedings, trial courts, the Indiana Court of Appeals, and the Indiana Supreme Court.
He is a graduate of Indiana University Kelley School of Business, where he majored in Business Economics and Public Policy, and a 2007 cum laude graduate of the Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington. While in law school, Mr. Leeman was inducted into the Order of Barristers for exhibiting excellence in the art of courtroom advocacy.
As a lawyer and law student Mr. Leeman served three different judges: Judge Paul D. Mathias of the Indiana Court of Appeals; Judge Larry J. McKinney of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana; and Robert G. James of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
Prior to joining the Leeman Law Firm, Mr. Leeman also worked for two years in Chicago as a lawyer in Seyfarth Shaw’s litigation department, one of the nation’s largest law firms.
After he and his wife, Sara Leeman, had their first child, the Leemans left Chicago and returned to his hometown to raise their family. “I was born and raised here and we want to raise our family here,” Leeman said. Mrs. Leeman, who is also a lawyer, took a job as Environmental Manager at the Essroc cement plant, while Mr. Leeman joined the family law practice with his father, Kelly Leeman. In March 2012, the Leeman family welcomed a set of twins.
In addition to operating a family law practice, Mr. Leeman has served as City Attorney for the City of Logansport and as an adjunct professor at Trine University, where he teaches employment law, prison administration, and master’s level courses in criminal theory.
Mr. Leeman is also a board member of the Peak Community Foundation and of the United Way of Cass County. He is a member of Cass County Rotary.
